yay, the wii …
yay, the wii doesn’t have all these motion sensing stuff =D.

The Wiimote …
The Wiimote functions as a “blob-sensing” camera with a resolution of 1024×768. The info’s on Johnny Lee’s website. Korg’s got a valid question here.

I was wondering the …
I was wondering the same. If you turn your head with respect to the camera, the distance between the two LEDs would shrink, giving much the same result as moving away from the screen. Now if the program can manage to triangulate the general locations of the LEDs’ positions, then the problem is non-existent. But if not, then I’d figure that at the very least, a third and probably a fourth LED would have to be used to determine head orientation. At least that’s my uneducated analysis.

That’ll be rather …
That’ll be rather easy. He just has to go into work. :P Personally, I’m rather impressed that they allowed him to post this video as a response. I think it really shows they’re recognizing and validating the work Johnny Lee did on the Wiimote Head Tracking project, and they’re willing to take ideas from other consoles to help improve their product.

Good to know that …
Good to know that you took the time to credit Johnny Lee for the original idea. Johnny Lee is effing brilliant. Everyone should definitely take the time to watch Johnny’s video though, if only to see how much easier (and more accurate) it would be to incorporate VR head tracking into the Wii console. Nice video. I hope this encourages big developers to incorporate this technology into upcoming games.
