DIY hot stuff - the bedroom saga continues
Yes we were busy moving a radiator in our bedroom on Sunday. It looks like Joe was doing it all but as usual I was his workmate. We had some snags but our problem solving saw us through, think outside the box! YouTube were busy doing site maintenance so I couldn’t upload last night. Thanks for watching. Cheers, Lesley

What a great job …
What a great job you guys did as a team Lesley!
it looks like some a huge job. My micheal is great at plumbing, it’s actually what he use to do and I remember when he dug up our back yard to lay water and gas pipes to go to the garage. There was no way I could have helped him. I know nothing lol. Great idea to use your kitchen tools though. Briliant.
Sorry Joe suffered burns and cuts but glad you finally got it done.
Love you!
Lisa
Well now we know …
Well now we know who to call if we get ourselves stuck! If he used to be a plumber I expect he can turn his hands to most things. I was doing simple stuff well away from the sharp objects and blow torches or it would have been an evening in casualty I know. Love you too, Lesley xxx
OK I’m alcohol free …
OK I’m alcohol free till Friday but I hope you remain spirit free in 2008! What an advantage, quiet neighbours

Amazing job you …
Amazing job you guys. Kudos to Joe and yourself. I think I’m pretty handy about the house - but still would never attempt something of that magnitude. Very impressive.
My comment to you …
My comment to you has gone skydiving what is it with YouTube comments at the moment half the time my only offered option is to mark as spam! We’re becoming reckless due to lack of alcohol that’s what it is. Cheers, Lesley
Thanks Danny the …
Thanks Danny the room is really starting to come together. We seem to work well as a team and I think that sometimes makes us feel like we can do anything. Those muscles are aching today so we know we did something! Cheers, Lesley
Never! You had me …
Never! You had me going then I was just about to switch off and it said 1 more comment but when I came to answer there was nothing till I noticed the little spam marker! My other comment to you still hasn’t shown up, maybe tomorrow. G’night. L
Wow I’m SO …
Wow I’m SO impressed! Not only with what you guys are doing but you could have your own DIY Show! That was fantastic! Really it was Brilliant! 5 stars! As always but ya know what I mean lol
Yikes, that looked …
Yikes, that looked like a lot of work! I’ll have to agree with you, the Edwardian fireplace did look rather plain.
Michelle, I think …
Michelle, I think our show would be don’t do it yourself, wait and pay someone to do it LOL. We’re feeling impatient and motivated to make change this month. There are some bigger changes to the house that we’ve been kept waiting over for 2 years. At least we can sort out our bedroom meanwhile. Cheers, Lesley
Thank you. It felt …
Thank you. It felt like a very long day and we certainly got some exercise running around. But we got the end result so we’re happy with that. Now we’re thinking about the next job! At least this weekend we’ll have a drink as a reward. Cheers, Lesley
Even if it had been …
Even if it had been the most beautiful fireplace in the world it would have had to go, there’s no other way to make the room work. But I don’t love it so I didn’t mind removing it and letting it be cherished in another home. Cheers, Lesley
Good for you! be …
Good for you! be nice when it is all finished! We have a lot here to do, just painting, laminate floors and plastering thankfully! Nice fireplace I thought, but if it doesn’t fit then in then little point in keeping it, have you thought about selling it on ebay?:)
Ah the joys of DIY! …
Ah the joys of DIY! We keep focusing like you guys on how great it will be to relax in it when it’s done. Will try to rehome locally first then try further afield with the fireplace. There’s a whole street here of identical houses many people want to put features back in. Cheers, Lesley
Oh yes, I bet …
Oh yes, I bet someone nearby will be glad of it! We are having a weekend off this weekend, been “at it” four weeks solid, we have earned it!:)
Does that mean you …
Does that mean you are really resting or taking in more of the sights of our lovely isle? L
The two of you are …
The two of you are so brave to break up the floor like that! I’m impressed! Great vid to watch Lesley, a real documentary (or more a reality soap opera?). cheers, Jeroen.
Well, I have a few …
Well, I have a few places I would like to show Dominika, we may pop down to Mistley at the weekend:)
Hey there Jeroen I …
Hey there Jeroen I feel like I haven’t talked to you in ages! We felt the need to do it ourselves and with no alcohol in the house yes we made this crazy decision sober…Glad you liked it, very strange walking round with a laptop I do wish I had a camera. When are we going to see more skating? Cheers, Lesley
I wish you had a …
I wish you had a camara too, LOL. Going to skate tomorrow, and the weather is pretty good. Hope there’s some space left to sleep over there, good night Lesley!

I find it …
I find it fascinating doing this ourselves though it’s tiring! We had art nouveau fireplaces in our last house and they were so beautiful it would have killed me to remove them. This is so plain I won’t miss it so much and moving the radiator there was our only choice. Glad you have discoveries you both treasure. Wonder what other secrets the house has? Cheers, Lesley
