Compressor set-up for HVLP Spray gun

I decided to describe what type of compressor a hobbyist needs in order to spray paint a car with an HVLP gun in order to get a quality paint job. I also talk about plumbing the compressor and other little tricks you need to know.

Yeah . . thats a nice compressor, but you dont need one that big. The rating you were looking at was @90psi . .you are concerned with the cfm at 40psi.

Another route could have been to get a low pressure or LVLP gun. This allows you to use any number of smaller compressors.

Anyway, for your shop there you will use that compressor for millions of things, so makes sense. Great video, have fun!!

Good job, but about …
Good job, but about the air compressor CFM rating, you should look at the lower pressure when dealing with a spray gun, because a spray gun usually operates between 10 and 20 CFM, so use the 40 psi rating when you look for a compatable spray gun. I run my Kobalt spray gun off of my 33 gallon Craftsman. It works just fine. It did kick in alot, but there was also some quiet time. Mine puts out 6.3 CFM at 40 psi. All i need is a water filter to keep out moisture. Good job on the video.
